Things To Do

Stonington, CT

Food & Drink

Breakwater - Located on a dock in Stonington Borough. Good seafood, and amazing views.

Dog Watch - A Stonington staple, also located in the Borough. Varied menu, and great back patio right on the water.

Macondo - Located right outside the Borough. Great smoothies & coffee.

Indulge - Centrally located in the Borough. Delicious, unique sandwiches & STRONG coffee.

Noah's - Located in the Borough. Great breakfast spot (also serves lunch & dinner) with the best blueberry pancakes EVER.

Beer'd - Fantastic brewery located in the Velvet Mill right outside of the Borough.

Saltwater Farm Vineyard - Nearby coastal vineyard with wine tasting.

Activities

Velvet Mill - An old velvet factory that has been converted into a "mall." All local vendors, no chain stores. Funky vibe.

Farmer's Market - Occurs every Saturday morning right outside the Velvet Mill. Look for the vendor with incredible breakfast sandwiches!

Stonington Lighthouse - Visit the Stonington Lighthouse and take a tour of the small museum! A donation is required at the door, but the Lighthouse has fantastic views.

Mystic, CT

Food & Drink

Red36 - Great restaurant with huge raw bar and fun cocktails right on the Mystic River.

The Treehouse at Oyster Club - A restaurant in, you guessed it, the treetops. Funky cocktails & cool atmosphere!

Sift - Delicious pastries & coffee that are well worth the wait!

S&P Oyster House - Upscale seafood, right on the Mystic River. Great views, with a fantastic outdoor patio.

Taquerio - A converted gas station, turned taco spot. Casual ordering system, great drinks & creative tacos (the fried avocado is our personal fav).

Engine Room - Beer, burgers, & bourbon. The title on the website says it all.

Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream - Taylor's favorite ice cream spot in CT! Located right at the edge of the draw bridge.

The Shipwrights Daughter - Fantastic brunch spot with great service!

Ford's Lobster - The best seafood in town (in our not-so-humble opinion). Unfortunately, Ford's does not take reservations and it's BYOB, but the seafood is well worth it!

Activities

Mystic Seaport - The largest maritime museum in the United States! A fun activity rain or shine.

Mystic Aquarium - For those that want to "seas the day," the Mystic Aquarium is right for you! Fun aquarium with several interactive exhibits.

Nearby Towns to Visit

Watch Hill, Rhode Island - A beautiful, preppy, quintessential East Coast town. If you want to do some retail therapy, by the beach, this is your spot. Visit Napa Tree Beach or East Beach for some sun & then wander into town for ice cream at St Clair Annex, grab a Del's Frozen Lemonade, eat a gourmet sandwich at "10 Sandwiches", peruse the local boutiques & grab a drink at The Ocean House. For any "Swifties" in the group; Taylor Swift has a house there. 20 min drive from Stonington, 25 min drive from Mystic (without beach traffic).

Newport, Rhode Island - Go check out the Newport Mansions, if you have a bit of extra time to kill. It's about an hour drive, without traffic from Stonington, CT.

Block Island, Rhode Island - If you have a full day of free time, take a ferry from New London, CT (20 min from Stonington, CT), to Block Island, Rhode Island. There you can rent bikes & explore the island. The ferry is approx 1.5 hours long.
